Some may say I’m a fighter having been diagnosed with multiple illnesses but they have made me who I am today and I’m proud of them.In 2011, I was diagnosed with Complex P.T.S.D (Multiple Traumas) caused by events that occurred from the age of 6 to 35. In 2016 after a fall from my horse, doctors found a small new bleed and two previous bleeds on my brain – TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) which help explain my struggles in some parts of my life cognitively.
Fibromyalgia has been a part of my life for over 15 years and I have been a Stage 3 Cancer survivor sine 2015. I refrain from calling myself a “Victim”; I prefer “Survivor”.
With a background in corporate management, travelling internationally and managing staff, it’s been very difficult for me to “stop” running on the rat wheel for 70+hours per week and just “rest”. Now my body dictates when I can and can’t work.
So I decided I can be of best use to others by collating the years and time spent researching for doctors who worked “specifically” with P.T.S.D. onto a simple to use resource site. I wanted to include help and support for family and friends to better understand what P.T.S.D is and what they can do to help make life easier for them and for an individual living with P.T.S.D.
